Current plan — status summary
Divider (KALLAX ladder-frame + board-and-batten facing) is designed. Two open items remain before this is ready to build:
- Backers: switched from 1/4" MDF to 1/4" paint-grade plywood (birch/poplar core) for basement moisture tolerance and stronger screw-holding at the battens.
- Bedroom desk (44"x23" antique wood desk) sits flush against the divider's 4x4 backer (pink board & batten), right end against the room's side wall — it covers the right ~44" of that backer; ~14 5/8" of pink backer stays exposed to its left, before the center stile. See bedroom elevation.
- Office furniture run (tall Alex + short Alex + 79" desktop + short Alex, 93 1/8" total, flush end to end) sits flush against the divider, tall Alex's right side against the office side wall. It covers almost the entire 4x3 backer and roughly the first 14" of the 4x4's open shelving — only about 10" of the 4x3's left end stays open as shelving. See office elevation.
- Both furniture placements are shown together, top-down, in the plan view (which reads left-right the same way the office elevation does: 4x4 on the left, 4x3 on the right).
- Upper panel (1/2" MDF, centered in the divider's depth) and its cleats are detailed in the side-view section.
- The 3/4" plywood ladder frame itself — stiles, bottom/top plate splices, and the wall-cleat support at each side gap — is detailed in ladder framing.
- Open: track light junction box resolution (see prompt.md "STILL DECIDING") — needs a field measurement of how far the box projects past the wall plane.
- Open: office backer paint color (currently drawn neutral/undecided).
